How to find the perfect job? Every student arriving in Australia as part of our Australia 4U program is given the opportunity to work legally. Bridge Agency consultants can help you face the initial challenges and support you in your job search. In fact, thanks to their help everybody who wants to work – really does. Even moving around does not pose any major problems since the level of unemployment in Australia, at around 6% and has been the world’s lowest for almost thirty years. As an example, there are plenty of opportunities for those looking for work in the hospitality industry.
Listen to Bridge Agency consultants. All our students succeed in finding work within the first few weeks after arriving to Australia. Even if initially your applications are turned down because you lack sufficient knowledge of the Australian labour market or you have no experience in how to look for a job we are able to help you.
Everyone coming to our offices in Sydney or Perth receives support in the following areas:
- obtaining a Tax File Number (TFN) - crucial for legal work;
- setting up a bank account;
- developing job seeking skills - where and how to start looking for a job;
- preparing you resume and cover letter;
- collecting appropriate references;
- preparing for an interview;
- familiarising yourself with the Australian labour market and employment agencies;
- finding reliable sources of job advertisements;
- preparing for professional work - we offer short courses, for example RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) for those interested in working in pubs and restaurants serving alcohol;
- basic information about tax and superannuation duties;
- information about the conditions of applying for the driver’s licence;
- information about getting around by the Sydney public transport;
- registering your own business and getting an ABN number (Australian Business Number) - while in Australia on a student visa you are eligible to start your own business..
Some schools that we promote also offer help with finding work. Schools sometimes offer to their students paid internship in the field they are studying. It is typical, for example on courses for event management, graphic design, retail operations and massage.
Permission to work. International students in Australia have a legal right to start working from the date of commencement of their course. However, they should first lodge and electronic application to receive the Australian TFN (Tax File Number). With the help of our consultants you can fill out this form in our Sydney office.
