Australian Migration Policy

Every year tens of thousands of people from all over the world settle in Australia. These are mostly people with suitable qualifications and good professional experience, spouses, partners or fiancés of Australian citizens as well as political refugees.

In the last UNDP report (United Nations Development Programme) Australia was ranked the second world's highest in terms of cultural offerings and quality of life (based on national performance such as human development, quality of life, health care, life expectancy, public education, economic freedom and the protection of civil liberties and political rights).

Application Procedure

All the formalities connected with migration to Australia are handled by MARA registered migration agencies, that is private companies licensed by the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship. The registration of an agent can be confirmed here.

Southern Cross Alliance

Southern Cross standard migration service includes three main categories:

Free Migration Assessment

Skilled Visas

Australia’s General Skilled Migration Programme targets migrants who have skills and relevant work experience that will contribute to the Australian economy. The skill must be listed in the Australian Government’s “Skilled Occupations List”. Those eligible for skilled visas must satisfy the following basic threshold criteria:

  • have at least vocational English language proficiency (IELTS certificate 6.0);
  • be 18- 45 years of age at the time of application;
  • have nominated an occupation on the “Skilled Occupations List” (SOL) and have the appropriate qualifications for this occupation;
  • have undertaken a skills assessment from the relevant assessing authority for their occupation;
  • have appropriate education in Poland and/or in Australia;
  • have recent work experience in their skilled occupation or have recently completed an Australian qualification;
  • good general health condition.
